No worries Megan! We can hang together or even ride down to Vortoberfest together. The camping is easy and showers and stuff are right there, so it will even work for the most stringent of princesses. Also, it might be the only time we ever hang out on a gameday

on a side note, but in regards to camping, they are planning to build a new campground a few short drive from Vortex at the corner of highway 181 and I-10. (located in Westville, which I think is the next exit going east from Ponce de Leon.)

Might be a nice alternative to camp there if you're heading to the gulf or to Morrison if Vortex gets "too rowdy" with the locals during the summer months.

There isn't an exit for Hwy 181 onto I-10. The next exit east of Ponce Deleone is for SR279, which is the Caryville exit. Hwy 181 does cross I-10, but there is no access to the interstate. You can get to the Hwy 181/I-10 crossing either by taking SR81 south, then SR181 north(like you're going to Morrison); or by taking SR81 north to Hwy 90, then east on Hwy 90 and south on Hwy 181. Sounds like the campgrounds will be in the same general vicinity of Ponce De Leon Springs.

Yeah, me likey the air mattress! It's self-inflateable, battery operated and is the same size as my tent so all bed! It can get a little noisy at the campsites, next time I will take my sleeping pills! Then I would have slept through that crazy storm too! After what happened to you last time Matt, I think I will be bringing you a present so you will not have any near drownings!

I really do hope you can make it MMWAL! It's a blast and I must say my smores ROCK!

Just for that remark you may have to cook for me all weekend, not just Sunday brunch...and do make it brunch. I missed it last time. I wasn't up stirring around when the rest of you ate.

hey, i am moving to the birmingham area in august and am getting certified FINALLY this july...Im finishing up graduate school down in Florida and my roommate in Alabama isn't into diving (i know, shame on her) so I really want to try and find a group of divers in the area. If you are up for organizing some dive trips at the end of August or anytime there after, let me know!!
