FWIW, there are also hybrid bladder BC's now such as the Aeris Atmos LX.

Perfect example:D If they kept it simple I would have been happy maybe even ecstatic with a Ocean Pro or a Latitude, But they showed me "options". I am truly surprised they don't make a fully automatic, does everything including heat the water system that you can put on like a belt and it adjusts by sensing your movements. The second you get wet a thing pops out (kinna like the alien bug) and covers your face and feeds you air.:rofl3:

I have back peddled to a bp/w (simple) that can be adapted to "the bug" if wanted.
But it is still June and the Latitude is on sale all month:D
Only question now is do I want that bp enough to pay $200 more(could get a lot of lead for that latitude) Could upgrade to an Atomic :D

Cheaper maybe but I might need a Kevlar mouthpiece to prevent biting it off in the cold:D

FYI, it was 49deg at a moderate 70 feet at Vet's Park this weekend. Counter-intuitive, but it may be a little warmer in the winter.

fffff 40 fff40 ffffeet isn't that the ccccert depth?
is 7mm gunna be enuf?
Did I mention that i'm allergic to ccccold
note to self: call dss and see if they have heated bp

Actually I'm still hoping to get OW before the Dive-in in July (would hate to be the only one to show up with a snorkel as my only dive gear):rofl3:
Just need a drysuit!

I've done many a dive in a 7mm + 3mm hooded vest.

Wish I could afford a drysuit but I would probably spend it on a warmer dive location.
besides if I had a drysuit I would need a rebreather to go with it:D
.
Taking longer than I wished may be a blessing in disguise. I am picking up incidentals here and there that can be deducted from the big cost. If it weren't for my gf's b-day coming up I could have got that bare suit too. :eyebrow:
Think I'm gonna sell this PSP and get gear. The only thing getting exercise is my thumbs and arthritis keeps me from playing it most of the time.
.
Yes the dive bug bit me hard, I'm not selling the Harley but I thought about it.:11:
will sell one of the cars. . but not the HOG!

OK if I was to follow the less expensive route and get ON-SALE items. Oceanic reg, Sherwood computer, and AL octo would they all fit together?

I strongly advise getting a salvo setup so you can service it yourself and save money over time.

I'm technically inclined but wouldn't attempt servicing a piece of "life support" if it were what I was using. If it were an extra that I could trial&error learn on it would be different.

I am now perplexed over the required weight computations. I don't want to buy far more weight than I need and cannot figure out how much I will need.
I'm thinking between 6# & 10# given the bp/w has 6+trim
I plan on using steel but am not sure of cf yet so I'll average 100
.
I'm trying to get an accurate cost analysis to see If this diving thing is do-able on my budget.
I am solid as quicksand on reg, octo, comp due to price differences from lds to lds
but I am sold on the DSS BP/W. and the 7mm suit from Bare
