Was the place these comments were found in a section that students can write in and write about their experiences taking class or the instructor, etc...? The person making the comments was uninformed about the other agency and their training methods as was pointed out previously. It was also pointed out that it was probably a lower level employee that let the comment in the system to begin with. Doesn't one of the major news networks read e-mail commemts at the end of the program? These comments run the full spectrum from we love everything you say to we think you're a bunch of !@#$%^&* for doing that story on such and such. The point being, anyone can write anything and it has the possibility of going on the air to be read during the broadcast. Too many people get their nose bent out of shape for the little things, this seems pretty little.

Hey, who do you think you are getting this thread back on topic? :D hehe

People that get all high and mighty overly-sensitive and whine about other peoples sense of humour really annoy me so there you go. Supposedly a free world - people are entitled to say and laugh at whatever they want.

Political correctness is one of the biggest evils in the modern world.

A sentiment every right thinking middle class white male would no doubt agree with.

No, the comments are those selected by PADI's marketing department for inclusion on the page. They are not unmoderated comments.

Not had any email response off PADI regarding it anyway but im not surprised - trying to get them to respond to anything even standards queries takes weeks so to expect them to bother replying to this would be asking a bit much. They aren't known for their efficiency.

Hey, congratulations on winning your gold! :D (kidding) Ford vs Chevy? Are you serious? Everyone knows the cool divers drive Land Rovers! :14:

Hahaha, very funny! I actually prefer my Wrangler but that's probably because I can't afford a Land Rover!

Anyone who knows me understands that I'm certainly not "high and mighty". Defending people who can't defend themselves has nothing to do with political correctness. Do you have some jokes about the terminally ill you care to share?

Yes, it is a freeworld. You are free to be a jerk if you like. Feel free to make fun of Hmongs, Chinese, Black, and any ethnic groups you like. Only A..H... do such thing in my book. You can be one too. Just spew out your common language, and we know your level of education. Again, I wish you bear a child with a learning disorder, or suffer from severe AGE so your IQ qualify you to enter the Special Olympics. Then you would appreciate the people who works so hard to put such an event together ...

Telling though that your apparent solution to another person's offensive speech is to wish brain injury on them and a mental defect on their unborn children.

I learned long ago that if I choose to be offended by every statement I probably should find offensive I'd be pretty lonely in my self-righteousness.

Sometime folks just don't know how words affect another person. Being in another person's shoe sometime teaches one to empathize with another. I am not wishing ill on someone, simply saying that if you were in the shoe of the parent, or the one who is called name, you might reconsider the term "political correctness".

The Hmong as a group are very shy, quiet individuals who have been persecuted in southeast asia for centuries. They live in small communities near us, and relation with the locals has been less than excellent. It is sad to see people displaced from their war torn homes only to be living in a strange environment with less than welcoming neighbors.

Count your blessings for being middle class white folks who can afford to scuba dive and have freedom of speech. I am not alone, there are many other who support my opinions.

I happen to know firsthand the effect a disabled person can have on one's life but this thread has pointed out one thing to me......why can't we have this same compassion for others on this board that we seem to have for someone disabled? Mr. Larson is drawing as we speak......
