Any good tips on things to do while on land in Pensacola. I plan on one of the days going on an inshore fishing charter. Also, any good reasonable priced restaurants?

Seriously?

Plenty of gorgeous beaches, tromp on over to NAS Pensacola and visit the Aviation Museum, you have a couple civil war era Forts available to explore, lots of food, lots of bars, ect. LOTS to do out there.

Peg Leg Pete's on Pensacola Beach is an excellent seafood restaurant, and a really nice place to hang out. Flounder's on the beach is good too. Hub Stacey's downtown is a good sandwich place for lunch. The Dock on the beach has good Bushwackers.

The Aviation Museum is very cool. Definitely worth a visit, and it's free. There are several other museums downtown.
A day at the beach, just hanging out and relaxing is a day well spent.

Enjoy.

What's a bushwhacker?

I agree on the Naval Air Museum...a lot to see and do, even if someone doesn't like planes. There is also an IMAX theatre here. As to restaurants...many options. If you are in town I like Zeas. Close to that is Callahans. If you like REAL cajun food, a little past Cordova Mall on 9th ave, is Jerry's Cajun Cafe....leave room for dessert, bread pudding with rum sauce...ma' cher it's good!

And, if you need to blow some time indoors, go over to Davis Hwy, and visit the best pet store on the gulf coast, the 12,000 sq.ft. Petland, awesome fish department....even have a waterfall.:D (Sorry, couldn't resist)

A Bushwacker is a local drink, cold frozen variety, with a sneaky punch, hence the name. Tread lightly, until you get the way of it.

haha ok thanks. It sounds the aviation museum is something that is a must do seeing as how my dad is ex-air force I doubt he's want to miss it. We're staying in the Portifino Resort is this place pretty nice and how far away is it from most of the the good stuff, besides the beach of course.

Portofino is nice, we put the granite countertops in over there. Enjoy!

McGuire's Irish Pub. Great food, in-house brewed beer, and live entertainment all weekend long.
