It was a pleasure meeting you this past weekend at OWU in Chicago. I can't seem to put the book down and I look forward to participating in this thread as I progress through the book.

Sandy,

I am not sure if you got a chance to meet Rob, but he was at OWU for a while on Saturday afternoon. Regardless, he is an incredibly talented guy and I am confident you will love the book. If you are dissatisfied, Richie will give you your money back.

Cheers

Havent had a chance to wade through this whole thread yet, so apologies if this has been covered. I do have a bone to pick with John, and hope to get the answer that I am looking for here soon.

John, when can I expect an email that Dive Portal DVD 4 is being released? I hate to take the "entitlement" angle, but I think I have waited long enough, you know?

Thanks for all the dive realated media. All this dust up over Shadow Divers, I just dug the book out of my shelf to read on the plane to Bonaire (leaving Saturday!) I can't believe I haven't read it yet...

Drew,

To tell the truth, Richie and I started DP for fun, and we had loads of fun making 1-3. It was right after Deep Sea Detectives and we suddenly had loads of free time.

Today, Richie and I have a couple of TV projects we are currently working on, and Brad Matsen's Titanic book comes out in October so we will most likely have to do some promotion with him. Richie and his wife, Carrie, are teaching the Evolution rebreather and they have more students than they figured? I have started a new underwater survey company with John Mattera from Pirates Cove in the DR, and we have some wrecks to go and find.

With all this good stuff going on, Richie and I don't think we can do Issue 4? It is as simple as we don't have the time, and we are not willing to give up our other projects to make #4 happen. We might do something further in the future, but not any time soon. How lucky are we to be so busy??

My apologies.

I was with Howard, and all three of you were gracious enough to sign the book and take a picture with me. After meeting all of you it makes reading it more enjoyable. Good, I thought that money back guarantee was a gimmick...sweet.

John - Off subject, but will you be at BTS in March? My buddy and I will treat you and yours at Scotties! Just let us know when you get in... I'm in Short Hills.
:D

Wow!! Dinner at Scotty's!! I am truly tempted. I may even go over to the Wine Library across the street??

I was not planning on going to BTS this year, only because I am so busy with work stuff. But now my wife wants to go to BTS with SUDS, Soldiers Undergoing Disability Scuba. She volunteers for them, so I may end up going for a day or something??

I have not figured out if I can do it yet or not, but if you are willing to shoot me an email a couple of days prior, and I am there, maybe we can make dinner happen?? jc@johnchatterton.com

Cheers

Why is it you haven't taken me or Blase up on our offer for dinner? Just kidding, looking forward to seeing you again soon, hopefully in the Keys.

That would be great. I'll send you an email in March. Wine Library rocks...what a selection!

I see that a new LDS is opening on Millburn Ave - two minutes from Scotty's. Should be an "interesting" half-life.

I had no idea that Scotty's had a restaurant in Kentucky as well???

See you at the SUDS event. I will buy you dinner.

Sorry, no Scotty's in Kentucky that I know of but there are some nice restaurants in Nashville, TN!

John,

I am new diver at the age of 53 (I can't believe I waited so long) and I have developed an uncontrollable thirst for this sport. Last Saturday I picked up a book that I saw someone reading on my last dive trip. I am half way through Shadow Divers (outstanding so far) and low and behold I find this thread today. HE'S ALIVE! Well at least I know the book doesn't have a bad ending for you or Ritchie. Your approach to life is awesome, and IMO, it is the attitude of pioneers like yourself that has made us the great country that we are. Your service in Vietnam, not only to our country but to your fellow comrades, is commendable.
I will reserve any questions for you until I finish the book, but I wanted to throw my kudos to you in the mean time.

I have never seen or heard of Deep Sea Detectives but it is now on my Tivo "to do list".

Bruce
