Hey,

I'm from VA but I want to go to Florida for underwater cave diving. If I am not certified in scuba diving. Is there any place I can go to have a guided tour and have them provide me with equipment in either VA or FL?

Thanks!!

Not a very good idea!!!

All that was missing was wanting to do a couple hours in the caves, solo, at 250 ft on air using AL80's :rofl3:

don't forget your spare air if you are going to make a dive like that... sheez

They do Cavern tours all the time in Mexico for OW certified divers, but the OP asked about Florida. OP is also not even certified so I doubt that even he/she could get a tour in Mexico. I personally think that going into overhead without being trained for it is crazy.

When I said "Before I was certified", I meant before I was "Cavern" certified. I agree with the other posters that the overhead environment is no place for the untrained.

I was about to say.....
thanks for clearing that up.:D

New divers and those not familiar with scuba diving often have issues in the water that cause them to bolt to the surface if they have an issue. There is the potential for you to have that issue, and if you are in a cave you have no where to go. I would suggest taking a regular diving course and working your way up to cavern training. Cave diving can be dangerous.

I would try to take a discover scuba class with a certified instructor and get a feel for diving before going into a cave. In diving there are many different levels. You got a few harsh reactions but mostly out of concern for your safety. Your request is similar to someone who has never driven asking if they can try driving a race car. I understand your desire to try diving a cave, but take your time and get the experience and training first.

PS. sounds more like trolling that a serious question

Boy...I guess a sneak trust me dive to the bottom of Eagles Nest is out for him then.

To the person who posted the thread. Cave diving is great, but you need to be trained for it. You have a long way to go and I hope you get there. Your post here was equivalent to asking if anyone had any bullets so you could play Russian Roulette. In fact thinking about it that would have generated a more positive response.

No one that I know would take you. It's a major pain having to fill out all the paperwork for the fatality report, not to mention having to call up the recovery divers, cops, coroner, and then having to lug off all your gear for examination and testing.

Seriously, you would most likely die.

Well don't want to feed the troll if that what this is. However this is a very safe way to get a taste that requires no travel.

Shop for DVD's at Ginnie Springs Outdoors
youtube also has many cave diving videos posted

I suggest you stick to living vicariously through others until you are properly trained, anything else would be very unwise.
