MZZ, you have heard a few answers, don't be afraid to reply back that you had no idea, how the diving world works. Its O-kay.

Now on the other hand, I will take you on one cave dive for $130,000.00, a
second dive for 250,000.00, so you see its a real savings for two dives.

The other thing that you do not know is theres no money to be made in the dive industry.

The answer is yes to your question, just pay the minimal fee I have shown above.

All that was missing was wanting to do a couple hours in the caves, solo, at 250 ft on air using AL80's :rofl3:

Don't be ridiculous! I'm sure the uncertified OP would be diving a rebreather with normoxic trimix!

You really need to ask this question over on The Deco Stop message board. That's where alot of cave divers and instructors hang out. They'll give you a straight up answer.

Haha that is too funny. I read TDS quite a bit to get info, knowledge, etc. and this would fit right into the "Cave Diving" section.

:rofl3::rofl3::rofl3:

This post is right up there with "taking tourists unguided to 200ft on single al80s" and "can I do a 50m bounce" and "I have 7 dives under my belt and need to know how I can be diving to 70m ASAP".

mzztiffany, I can't blame you for thinking cave diving looks like more fun than should be legal. It is. But, as you can probably tell from the sarcastic answers you've gotten, cave diving is one of the most technical areas of diving, and requires extensive training and special equipment. So no, you can't do it as an uncertified diver, unlike the reef tours you CAN do with Discover Scuba programs at resorts.

But don't let your rather peevish reception here put you off either the idea of diving, or the idea of eventually cave diving, if it appeals to you. I got certified two and a half years ago, and got my first cave cert last October. It was a long road, but well worth it.

New divers and those not familiar with scuba diving often have issues in the water that cause them to bolt to the surface if they have an issue. There is the potential for you to have that issue, and if you are in a cave you have no where to go.

That's good then! No chance of air embolism from bolting to the surface too fast! :D

Seriously, I am certain that what Mzztiffany is asking does not exist in United States. Liability issues are just too great. Taking a non-diver on a tour in 30' of clear tropical water is one thing. Cave is something entirely different.

It probably does not exist even in less litiginous places, like Mexico. I've heard about an operation in Mexico which will take a certified diver -- but not technical-certified, -- to 180' on air, accompanied by an instructor on trimix. Even that is "pushing it", IMO.

First, drive to Kentucky for a guided tour of Mammoth Cave.
Second, wait until the point where the Ranger turns off the lights
Third, spin yourself around until dizzy.
Fourth, run real fast in the direction you think is right, then run faster.
Finally, IF you make it out alive, then get certified. If not, then don't.

Hey, you guys, can you lay off?

Imagine you're somebody who's intrigued with the idea of diving . . . You do some internet browsing and learn about Discover Scuba programs. You see some pictures of cave diving. You wonder if you can do a discover scuba cave dive. You don't know enough to know how improbable such a thing would be, so you find a scuba bulletin board and you ask.

What you learn is that divers are jerks. They don't answer your question, they just make fun of you for asking it.

What a great bunch of people to want to be part of, huh?
