Jep, I do not object to this thread. I do indeed think it stupid and disagree with the proposal, but I guess that management does want the feedback.

There was a time when I had a pic of one of my favorite dive trip T-shirts removed, but we changed from family-friendly to office-friendly and now that T is used as an avatar. I think that office-friendly is far enough, and the pics on pages 1 & 2 of the referenced thread on Spearboard (yep, I turnd the page) are beyond what I see as office-friendly. They also give totally new meaning to the idea of silicone, which I prefer in o-ring grease and masks as far as this board is concerned.

Just so I understand, can I post while I am naked or wearning no panties, is that a violation? Or can I do that and just not post pictures or talk about it?
I think it's only a violation if you post while naked, post the picture and let the rest of us talk about it ... :no

These "First Amendment" type discussions are always entertaining. I suspect it'd be easier to allow the extra freedom if it didn't (almost immediately) lead to people seeing how far they could push it.

"Personal responsibility" is usually something of an oxymoron on a public forum ...

Actually, the TOS says Workplace Friendly. Remember, strip clubs and biker bars are Work Places too. ;)

Okay, aside from the picture in post # 16 being slightly frightening, I don't see any problems with them. If you went to the 2nd page you will see that there were some pictures removed as being inappropraite.
I did look over page 2. Post #30 shows see thru thong panties. Again, an example of failure in the idea. If they want to have that on their board, fine. If it was allowed here, next we'd have whinners complaining because their pics were pulled.

I think so, for the latter - I could give you my email addy. :D

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, don't even get me started on them.I was coming in Port Everglades cut yesterday, it was sloppy with all the wakes on a sunday afternoon and I was bouncing and rolling around. Next thing I know I see a bow next to my boat. I maintain speed and this guy starts yelling. I look over and it's homeland security. I tell him I'll meet him inside where it's calmer. He's still yelling and I call him on channel 16, no answer, now the guy is yelling and I can hear him say slow down, I'm doing about 10 mph ridiing the back of the waves. I slow and we're bouncing all over, this guy has his 3 ft rubber ball fender and then he's yelling, asking me, me where I've been, where am I going, I'm yelling back. Why the hell we couldn't use the radio or wait until we were inside is beyond me.

When he finished he replied, we do this all the time, well I don't! I don't think if falls under "operating in a safe and prudent manner" I don't think you'll see the coast guard pulling people over in an inlet.

effing morons, they ought to rename it again, homeland bureaucracy.

Have you registered for the Local Boaters Option? If you haven't it's great.

Why is it that the most outspoken moralists are often the biggest :censored:?

Guilty conscience ???

Or wishful thinking ... :blinking:

If you want to get into specific incidents, I don't have to look but to this very thread.

1) I have been told to go start up my own board.
2) It has been said this thread is stupid.
3) I have been accused of trolling.

These posters are on the other side of the spectrum from me and ofcourse they would say these things. Right now, SB is more reflective of their beliefs and they want to keep it that way. Doesn't seem like they really care about the dive communities diverse nature. J

Jep, I was just saying that SB isn't your only option and for a few bucks you can have your own sandbox and set whatever rules you want there. If you don't like the sandbox someone else has set up, you in fact do live in a place where you have the freedom to set up your own gig. As a network admin, you also have the skills.

Rather than try to force a private owner of a site to run his site the way you want instead of allowing him the freedom to run his company as he sees fit. SB is a company and we are the customers. We will either decide to do business with them and come here and post and support the companies that place ads here or we will leave and vote with our time and $$ else where.

SB is the larget scuba site on the net. I think they must be doing something right. If they are not and the masses are ready to revolt, seems like the time might be right for someone to set up a free for all site and steal way 40 or 50 thousand members.

So posting pictures of women in bathing suits is bad, emailing you pictures of naked women is good? :shakehead:
