As Kraken speaks, I feared it may be so... even if the structures have been torn down, wouldn't the racetrack still be there, and maybe some concrete structures since the bleachers have now resurfaced? Sorry, cannot find pic from paper, looks like they've updated.

And all along I've wondered, is this map super special, or just some fishfinder variety. Anyways, Flightlead, if you want to take a look, you're welcome to. If you want to see if they're available, maybe you can find an updated version. Away from town this weekend but free next Sunday if anyone is planning on diving, especially in Laurel Park. No, I'm not diving, I'm watching.

I'd like to dive the race track next weekend.

racetrakc is still up, i beleive i heard in hear say that the pits are also still up, and someone once said that they have an old Gulf Oil sign that was hanging in one of the pits, i think i can get in contact with him to get exact cords, if yall still need em.

turns out it might not be so special :-) I'm going to hit wally world or bass pro shops as soon as I can and see if I can pick one up.

the corps of engineers says that all BUILDINGS were torn down, not all STRUCTURES. their concern was the danger of floating debris from disintegrating buildings posing a danger to the dam or to navigation. if there were structures of iron and/or concrete my best guess is that they were NOT torn down. that would include the concrete bleachers of which you speak, and also I hypothesize any bridges or railroad trestles (trestles might have had wooden portions removed). why show a structure on a fishermen's map when the structure is no longer there? the fish congregate around structures, which is why fishermen would be interested.

personally I think it seems odd that the corps would remove buildings, fences, etc and then leave big piles of felled trees.

anyhow, I still hold out some home for finding something interesting in lanier. :D

I may be up for a dive on Racetrack next weekend on Sunday!

So anyone going to do the Race Track on Sunday? let's do it!
