I searched the forum for ways to cook a Florida Lobster (lobsta' if your from Maine). Any good suggestions.. Caught a 3lb one today. Just can't find a good way to cook..

Sorry "J" did not cook so well. Ruff seas but a good time.

I like to microwave the tail after it is split. Add butter and lime juice.

I like to split the tail and throw them on the grill over a mesquite fire for a few minutes. DON"T OVER COOK! Eat them with lime and garlic butter!

All great ideas, but how can I tell when it is cooked? I lived in Maine most of my life, it was easy, throw the lobster in a pot when it turns red its done..

it'll turn red. depending on the size of the tail and the intensity of the heat, 4 - 7 minutes ought to do it. if you pull it off and it's still not done to your liking, throw it back on the fire...

Suggest that you observe and snap photos instead of killing.

Imagine being boiled alive....does that really whet your appetite?

Just a suggestion to THINK.

We don't boil Florida lobsters alive. We rip them in half, and stick an antenna up their anus backwards to rip the guts out while they're alive, but they're usually long dead before they go into the pot.

Some people does boil Florida lobsters alive, and shovelnose lobsters alive, and blue crabs alive, and other color crabs alive. Now when it comes to live lyon's paw, live scalops and other live shell-creatures, steaming them tends to hold the flavour a lot better.

Also left over lobster is great the following day on either tacos or omellets.
Just a suggestion to also THINK.
