For the past few years, my lighting existed in a Dive Rite CX2 & a SeaLife Dragon mini 900S. I dropped/lost my first 900S and replaced with the same several years ago. I especially like its 900 lumens and small size, as it clips nicely to chest D-ring and secures tightly with a rubber band. Recently, I’ve either misplaced or likely lost my second 900S, so I’ve been looking for candidate replacements. The OrcaTorch D700 was one of the replacement candidates along with SeaLife new lights which replaced the 900S, all brighter than the 900S, but they are all longer and bigger in diameter than the 900S, so I was not sold. After seeing that Sealife was selling out the highly rated 900S for only $80 including battery and charger. Great buy, so I ultimately decided the 900S lighting was good enough for my uses, and any 2X cost light wasn’t worth a change at this time. Good buy, check it out (only on Sealife website).

Still looking for an upgrade, but no rush now!!

I have the D710, very bright, good value, and worked without any issues. I used to carry it on all my dives but agree that it was just a little bit too large for the tropical/recreational diving I was doing so started searching for a replacement.

Right now I'm carrying the Orcatorch D520 which is just the right size for what I need as a backup small light. I'm still not totally happy with it. Since its a twist on light it requires two hands to turn on which has been annoying to me when holding my carmera etc. I'm looking for a new replacement but haven't pulled the trigger yet. The one I'm lookin at is the Weefine WF100

Did you check out the 900S. For a long time it and its brother the 1200S got lots of “best of” awards

I am currently standardizing all of my lights and strobes on devices using 21700 batteries. It makes charging a lot easier, and some cells have a USB-C port built in.

The Orcatorch 710V (wide angle) and 710mk2 (narrow to wide zoom) are great options that fit the bill.

Thanks I took a look it does look like a good light and the size I want...still tempted by Weefine cause its a bit brighter and comes with new usb plug in chargeable batteries...the S900 does seem tried and true so that is a factor. I've had a Weefine focus light before and it was built well and performed well. Glad to see options at this price point
