Here's two different dil-out configurations. Mine has the pair of 3 l and one I found on Facebook from Frederic Page is the one with the aluminum 40s.

Worth noting I had a shaved cave canister and currently use a custom cut canister latches are deleted now. But I made sure I could use the rear latches on the first version without removing the 3l.

Frederic has a standard can by the looks. And the 40s look like really nice rig to use.

Late to this thread but did you cut your can just to be rid of the bosses the clips mount to, no issues being clipless? What length can did you start with and where did it wind up?

I cut the can then gave it a inspo classic treatment .

Started with a tall can. Cut it somewhere to the neighborhood of a mini canister. Printed a spacer and viola!

Just snagged a fathom dsv. Dsv's are nice I just didn't like the Meg dsv hose attachment. Swapped out my shrimp to give this a shot.

I just wish the loop also had a screw-on connection, similar to the head, on the DSV side of the T’s.

I am revisiting my desire for a heavy config. Is there a reason to use an STA instead of a Kent Tooling bracket, a-la Fathom?
Here is what I was thinking:

- Attach 2 50LPs with KT long brackets to the can
- Attache suit inflation and O2 bottles to the 50LPs with KT short brackets

Also, in your config, do you use TOSCL or BMCL?

Not really reason to go one way or the other. The brackets are a little wobbly but not bad at all in fact the original heavy configuration used the long brackets to hold the 50s on afaik.

Personally I would attach everything to the can. Perhaps you are trying to make it easy to switch back and forth from a heavy rig by not having the extra mounts in the way? There may be pros and cons to each setup but I don't think anything would be a deal breaker give it a shot.

I use a BMCL.

Has anyone figured out a streamlined solution for adding offboard dil while diving with TOSCL and a DSV?

The old FMCL had two inflator valves on the dil side: ADV and dil MAV. You could easily plug offboard dil. With TOSCL combining dil ADV and MAV, we no longer have that option.

I could disconnect O2, plug new dil into the O2 MAV, flush the loop, then reconnect the O2, but there has to be a better way. Of course, I can go with FMCL or use BMCL with appropriate MAV/connections on the dil side. Any other options?

Edit: A potential option would be to replace the stock t-piece with a BMCL t-piece w/o an ADV. Hook up a typical MAV and bungee it up close to the loop to prevent dangling.

I dive with a Bov(Connected to offboard BO), it's easy to take a sip from that if I've closed off the adv.
I'm guessing Martin at Tecme also have or could make a t-piece where you could connect something.

You could always just put a qc6 female on the adv and put a qc6 male on the "on-board" dil. when you decide to switch dil, plumb the different gas in.

I do this on my minnows if I'm using on-board dil. If diving off-board, moot.
