I'm a Fish!
Hey Guys,

i'm thinking about buying a Mk25T EVO. Doesn't make any sense really, but i'm a sucker for titanium and i'm getting a really good price. The only problem is that apparently Scubapro does not sell it as standalone, only paired with the S620 X-Ti as 12.620.600. (Or do they? If they do, what's the product number?)

Now i have way to many G250 and G260 for my own good and i love them. They are easy to service and tune and just work.
So i don't really need or want a S620 X-Ti, although a titanium barrel would be nice. Downsides i've found so far is that the S620 does not have a seat saver and it's probably a bit harder to open without tools, e.g. under water or right before a dive.

Did someone maybe use and service both G250/G260 and S600/620 (X-Ti)? How do they compare under water and on the work bench? Any real hard arguments for or against it besides betraying my trusty G260s?

Could someone send me the schematic and/or service manual for the S620 X-Ti or S620 Ti please? I have the schematics, manuals and the service video for the S600.. i'm guessing they are very similar, although the S620 Ti/X-Ti and S270 have their own service kit 11.620.045.

On the workbench they are all kinda the same (not really); but the 600 is a bit more of its own island depending on the generation:
G260, s600 (not 1st gen); s620 (haven’t had one on the bench, but based on schematics and such) are more or less the same with regards to the main procedures and having a microadjust
The g250 has no microadjust except the HP(?)
The s600 1st gen (like the g500 and g250HP; you can tell by the knob) have pneumatic seat saver: micro-adjusting these either need a special tool or constant back and forth game

Other caveats; the barrel locking clip is a bit annoying to install/take out

Haven’t used any of the small sized cases underwater yet

Yeah, it looked like that in the S600 video. Also them suggesting a normal steel screwdriver to pry it out seemed a bit weird. Wonder why they even use that clip.. the G250 and G260 barrel stays in place just fine with the nut on one and the adjustment knob on the other side.

Edit: And thanks for the schematics!

Wonder why
To lock the knob itself in place I think (IIRC); I remember fighting the knob itself when I was disassembling the 600
I think the same design is in the C series

The 620 comes apart more like the 260 than the older 600’s, I don’t know if I have any manuals but will look and add them if so.

While it’s kinda nuts to buy the 25t but if you just have to have it sell the 620 and put the 260 on in its place.

Yeah, that's what i was thinking about as well.. but on one hand i'd probably not get enough money to justify just getting rid of it, and on the other hand i might not even be allowed to sell it officially for a few years since the (ridiculous) price my dealer (and friend) offers me has some kind of additional 'pro' or instructor discount and i'm not 100% sure about the conditions as of yet.

I might just give it a try if i end up ordering the set.

Mobulai was friendly enough to send me the S620 schematics and i found the Mk25T schematics elsewhere, so i'm good on that front. But if you have more stuff i'll happily take it.

They do get picky about holding it for a year or so with the key man pricing.
Here is an old thread , sorry no manuals in my saved files

One big thing SP touted - and you can see in the side by side photo - is the much larger exhaust on the 620. They claim that it makes a difference on the exhalation WOB. It's surprising that exhalation takes that much effort but with the greater gas densities at depth, who knows, maybe it really makes an appreciable difference.

Thread drift, wow that never happened on scubaboard ;)

If you really love titanium and want a reg set that will make you weep with joy, get an Atomic TFX ;)

Afaik the pricing situation between brands is a bit different in the US, but here Atomic (and Halcyon as well) is so absurdly overpriced that it's laughable. Scubapro is just the same price level as everyone else apart from the titanium stuff.
