The nature of deep wreck exploration means that not every shipwreck can be identified. This huge 110 metre long steamship lay inverted in 90 metres (270) feet of water off the North coast of Cornwall. Despite our best efforts, and some stunning underwater conditions, it will probably never be identified.

As a new feature my video for this dive contains an awesome overlay containing information from my dive computer which I think people will appreciate.

Cool vid. But 90 meters is 295'. Don't sell your dive short :-)

Even better, I saw 90.7m when you flipped over the porthole, that's 297'.

So close to 300' 🤣, maybe I should have dug a little hole!

Yeah my first dive to 30M was in an extinct volcano, I punched my console into the silt to the elbow to achieve it.

I mean it is 100m deep in another bit, what an achievement

You're doing some pretty amazing stuff Deep Wreck Diver admirable

Thanks, I'm fortunate enough to be a member of some awesome teams!

This is wonderful.
10°C water
100m
open ocean
DPV
Two cameras
Almost no light penetration at depth
Silty wreck
2 hours of in water decompression On a shot line
From a boat
With Rebreather and bailout
No support divers

This is a serious dive. Just the logistics are an accomplishment.
I am just amazed there are four of you doing this dive. Where can I get such friends?

Thank you although this what we do this quite a lot so it's 'normal' to us. I think there was eight divers (maybe six) on the funny although not all seen in the video.

Dive below is a big one!
  • Also 10°C water
  • Nearly 120m
  • 70 miles offshore in the open ocean
  • DPV
  • Two cameras
  • Almost no light penetration at depth
  • Silty wreck
  • 3.5 hours of in water decompression
  • On a lazy shot
  • From a boat
  • With Rebreather and bailout
  • My three torches fail one at a time 🤣
  • Dusk approaching rapidly
  • No support divers (does anyone use them any more?)
  • Boat loses an engine on the return journey!
Awesome result

Impressive dive and I like your narration.

But that background music is so intrusive, annoying and such a poor match for what's going on that I had to grit my teeth to make it through the video.

I'm curious as to the decision to even put music on there. Surely anyone interested enough in this subject would prefer to hear the ambient sounds, even if it's mostly the scooter. I know I would.

Thanks for making it all the way through and I've had loads of people saying the same!

This was one of the earliest videos that I made so thought that people would prefer some background music which turned out to be a mistake!!! The good news is that none of my newer ones have anything other than my voice (and sometimes a little bit of ambient sound)
