Poseidon Diving Logistics, LLC, @PoseidonDiving.US has been given responsibility for Poseidon regulator and rebreather distribution, service and training in the US.
My name is Robert Singler, and I am Poseidon's Senior Technician Instructor Trainer for the US.

We want to welcome you back to the Poseidon manufacturer's forum! Going forward, we hope that this forum will be a place for you to get answers to your questions from folks who have direct contact with headquarters in Sweden.

We look forward to gradually dispelling some of the myths out there, to explaining why the unique designs of Poseidon's regulators have made them a reg of choice for many of the world's militaries, and how they meet certification standards at 600 feet.

I plan to gradually extend technician training beyond dive shops, so that interested owners can service their own gear and not have to rely on an unknown to service their life support equipment.

I will personally try to ensure that going forward, the technicians I train will service your regs with the same care and skill that I give to my own equipment.

Here's to the disappearance of urban myth!

I dunno.

Trying to convince me that breathing off of a Cyklon or Jetstream won't be comparable to the explosive opening scene from Scanners, will be a tough sell -- but I genuinely wish you well . . .

Could you unlock my MkVI for me thanks boss!!!

If I promise to use an IP gauge thanks boss!!!

Although considering this is a very welcome and important thread it's best you remove my two frivolous posts

Thank you boss!!!

Robert -- all kidding aside -- congratulations on your appointment as Poseidon's Senior Technician Instructor Trainer.

Skål . . .

Love poseidon regs! It's a sorry don't have an active distribution at my country!
Wish you great succes!

The about-to-be-published Poseidon Diving Logistics training website has the following intro from the president:
"Civilian courses are open to any English-speaking individual with prior regulator maintenance experience. Dive shop affiliation is not required. Documentation of prior training for initial certification may be required. For individuals new to SCUBA equipment theory and maintenance, advance training on regulator theory and tool handling technique is required. Please contact us to discuss your needs. "

You can plan to see, within the next six months, a path to get the basic training that will allow certification from a standing start. As good as Deep6 and HOG courses can be, some others do not provide enough theory and tool handling basics to satisfy this major brand manufacturer. We're going to figure out a way to do that, that doesn't require something as extensive as my 3‐day Reg Tech Seminar to get your foot in the door. In exchange, you'll only learn about one brand, just like HOG and Deep6, but Poseidon can be confident in your skills. And you'll walk away with a certificate that entitles you to buy kits and parts!

Speaking of which, the market power of PDL has allowed negotiations with Poseidon Sweden for a price structure for kits and parts that is WAAAY lower than anything I have ever seen before! No more $70 oxygen service kits and $75 servo valves.
I am told that MSRP for Nitrox first stage kits will be less than $38, and less than $30 for second stages.
Service costs and access to service have been huge turnoffs for many folks who have been intrigued by this regulator. That's going to change, in a big way. Coupled with a route to DIY, I think reasonably priced access to a unique high performance design is right around the corner.

Such a lovelly news!

I want to know what the urban myths are. People should not tease juicy gossip and then not share!
