I replaced the batteries on my Sola 1200 light years ago. You need to source the same spec battery cell, and then there was some soldering required. It worked fine for a couple of years until I dropped the light and cracked the case open.

Thanks, from the website linked above, it looks like 2 x 18650 batteries at 3.6V each. I was hoping to go with the highest mAh batteries I can get my hands on. What do you think?

Well, they took my money so I sure hope they can deliver on their promise that the item is in stock.

I will report back here as to the outcome.
Received the 1” ball adapters today and all is well. Bluewater came through. Get them while they last.

I would use identical mAh batteries as the originals if possible. Carefully measure diameter to the .1mm accuracy with anything you buy. There can be tiny differences in diameter that will make a bigger cell not fit in a tight compartment, or heat issues with a bigger cell. New cells are going to feel a lot bigger than what you've been experiencing as the batteries died anyway.
