Dive watches are cool and I keep working on my collection. Here's my latest. It's a Cold War era Vostok.

Is that the model Bill Murray wore in The Life Aquatic?

Probably a wealthy person or the watch was a good $500 replica. Rolex Submariners can handle a flooding (being mechanical) and can be repaired. However, be prepared to spend good money on them. For continued use underwater they need to be serviced about every 12 months.

I inherited my Rolex... Probably would have never bought one myself, but it's cool to have that memory of my dad. What's funny is the watch is so flashy, that I only wear it in the fall winter and spring while I have it covered up by a long sleeve shirt

The dive watch I've used the most is my shark fin plastic $50 scuba watch and it has been down to 120 or so

Agree that old dive watches today are associated with the memory of important persons, past events, activities, etc.

Old Rolex between between 2 Seikos . The Seikos are every day wear ,either one. The Rolex has never been serviced.

Looks a bit misty under the glass of the Rolex,
Well spotted, yes it is misty ,has been for a long time, despite that it still works. I should have it serviced but I know I will not do so. At my age I don't buy hard avocados or green bananas 🤔. Someone else's problem when I pass, if they care. There is no shortage of watches here that will see me out.

I have way too many watches... all Seiko.... all divers. Maybe some day I will get around to posting them up here for sale.
