Oh those valves have a very good price! Years ago they where very expensive. Thank you very much for this link.

Hexx's solution is interessting indeed but as solenoid valves are cheap now I prefere solenoid valves.

My compressor has 2 solenoid valves, I bought them years ago at a much higher price, don't remember details. They work perfectly fine, they are no failure point and need no maintenance (unitl now).

A purge tap is a failure point as well and needs maintenance.

Yep. That becomes expensive really fast, and I would say adds a failure point and more maintenance.
At the begining I was looking into modifying a compressor with this kind of valve but with a servo direct to the purge tap is cheaper and "bullet proof"
For me your solution is a bit over-engineered and complicated. IMHO, very small amount of
people have 3D printer at home and have skills to program ESP8266. But that's indeed
great project and solution.

Every road leads to Rome. Hexx's solution is great. Now that solenoid valves became cheap they are great as well.

Hexx's solution means you have to do some work, no doubt. But attaching a solenoid valve is some work as well.

Do you have any pics/guides of how you have this wired up? thanks!
