Does a Sony 16-35mm perform well in 6" Ikelite dome?

Anyone have experience on how well these perform for video, and how accurate Ikelite's port charts are?

I was considering a Seafrogs wet lens system, but they don't have any information on the ZV-E1 I was looking to pair it with. 8" too big, so looking at 6" domes for travel size.

I'm using Ikelite housing & Port but not for Sony. (I'm using Olympus)
Their port chart is quite accurate. I can pick a set that fit all my lenses properly. If you're using multiple lenses, might worth to take notes of all parts option to find common pieces

I'm using their DLM series 6" dome for my wide-angle. It's quite ok, loosing some sharpness around the corner with 14mm full frame equivalent.

Hey, I see you're in Bangkok as well!

Did you get your Ikelite from One Stop Dive? If so, how were they?

Yeah I saw one of Ikelite's videos with a 6" dome and the ZV-E1 and the corners looked soft, and another where they looked better. Their recommended dome port (5516.12 and the 5516.67 extension) are different than the footage:

very soft corners: better corners:
yeah, i was considering the 12-24mm but i think for 6" dome would probably be too wide in terms of IQ? 16mm-35mm seems more reasonable, and get the benefit of using Clear Image Zoom which is lossless (instead of 6k oversample to 4k, its just native 4k) for 1.5x zoom to 52mm for some ok macro if you see a box fish or big seahorse.

I'm hoping to get a new camera setup soon, maybe test it out in Koh Lipe, then do a liveaboard on the Andaman Sea in December.

I got my Ikelite gears through One Stop in Krabi.
Contact them over email and Line@

Their service to me so far (price-check, order, delivery) has been great. The price they quoted to me was a little bit higher than MSRP on Ikelite website - but that understandable for freight cost - which also include shipping to my home in BKK.

Last time I'd order Ikelite gear with them it took about 3 weeks.

I can't really comment on the dome port for Sony camera, as I'm using different system/brand of camera though. Will share some of my video here once I got home. (my work network block access to youtube)

Ok, Here 's the first video I use my Ikelite set for photo & video
Most wide angle shots were with Oly EM5III, 7-14mm lens (Full frame 14-28mm equivalent) in 6" Dome port. Macro was with 60mm Macro lens (Full frame 120mm equivalent) in Ikelite Flat port. Some were with dioptors.

very cool, thanks.

corners look pretty sharp in the 6" dome, which is reassuring.
