I have been enjoying diving this second summer with my new ECCR from Poseidon. What is the life expectancy of an ECCR? If there is one....

Life expectancy is vague as it depends on how much hands on you are willing to do. If you want to continue to bow down to the poseidon gods then your rig will last until they go out of business. they have a history of supporting their customers albeit expensively but they support their customers well and usually offer an upgrade path as they offer new upgrades and units.

If you dont maintain and service your stuff it wont last. If you take care of it will last until life gets in the way or you get bored of it. Ive got buddies still running original prism topaz units that they got 25 years ago....

There are some very vintage units out there, Megs and APs for instance that are still going strong 25+ year out. The majority have long since turned into scrap heaps. CCRs are like boats, they require continual investment in parts and service

I personally dived on a 12+ year old Six used heavily by an instructor and it was like new.
It was also regularly serviced by Poseidon authorised service centre, as mentioned above.
I would expect your unit to last almost indefinitely as long as it's being kept in good order and Poseidon are in business.

Happy diving!

Yes, we have many original customers who keep in touch and still dive their units all over the world.

As long as one can get replacement electronics and parts when they are broken for the CCR I guess.

Not just electrical parts, many units both m and eCCR have proprietary Orings.

That's what I meant with 'parts'. Not just o-rings, but all kind of specific pieces that are proprietry. .

Calling @RainPilot

You have a couple of these, what's your take on this?
