A little follow up......I applied Aquaseal to both sides. It deminished the leak but the more I looked at the zipper closely it was obvious this was a loosing fight. I bought a replacement on line and installed it myself. The hardest parts were figuring out a adhesive and removing the old glue. The glue I went with was Pliobond 25. The reason I went with it is threads mentioned it stays flexible when cold. Additionally the instructions offered several methods for use one being letting the glue dry and reavtivating it with heat. I had stress about proper placement of the zipper on the suit so this method was my choice. Removing the old glue took about 4 yours with a heatgun to scape the majority of it off and Xylene to remove the rest. I ruffed up the zipper surface with a dremel, cleanded with acetone and applied two to three coats on both surfaces. I allowed it to dry and installed using my seam sealer iron. it is made for applying film skin to RC airplane airframes. It worked like a charm, you just have to watch that it doesn't get too hot. Installed the zipper and then installed glue down seam tape the same way. I then installed wide iron on seam tape over the two. 4 dives with no leaks. I did notice some lifting of the iron on seam tape that I will need to heat up again. Totals are $200 for the zipper, $30 for the seam tape, $20 for the glue and I had the solvents on hand. Local shop wanted $600 and a shop I have used a state away wanted $345 plus another $65 for shipping. So I saved a little money and learned how to replace zippers and other dry suit needs.
