I've had my Ranger for 7-8 years, and absolutely love it. I've never had any problems, and for a weight integrated bc, I think it has the best weight release.

If possible, I would highly recommend that you try them before buying.

The Ranger is more like The Dave Matthews Band, Phish, or the Dead
Scott

I think you're wrong on this Scott. I'd say more like Eric Clapton. :rock_band A classic with lots of posers out there copying the style.

ranger ltd cant go wrong with it i

Hi everyone,

I am planning to upgrade my OLD BC "seaquest ADV 4" to either the ranger or Black Diamond for better lift also intergrate weight system.
I am doing a lot of dry suit diving about 50F - 55F water and assisting classes for OW , and around 2-4 trip per year for tropical dives and need to upgrade ASAP.

Just wondering if anyone have any input for the Ranger and the BLK diamond.

Happy diving !!

What size and where are you located? I've got a friend that is possibly going to sell his medium Black Diamond. It is used, pool, lake, couple of ocean dives. I was going to buy it but it's too small for me.

If you're interested, PM me and I'll get a price.

Well, having never used the Ranger and owning the Black Diamond my vote would have to be the Black Diamond. Never had a problem with it, lots of attachment points for varying your setup according to the needs of the dive, large lift capacity, the option of mounting light/small doubles, reliable (good, large velcro pads) integrated weight system, etc...

Not sure what the cost is on the Ranger, however I will say the Diamond is a little pricey.

Zeagle Brigade any good? Saw it a scubatoys.com their exclusive, looks neat and good.

Try to rent them both and see what fits you best. I am partial to Seaquest, had an old (15 + years and still works perfectly) ADV that mysteriously shrunk and is now being used by a buddy.

The black diamond fits me extremely well, and meets all my needs. I will buy another in 15-20 years when this one dies.
