Anyone use this?

LeisurePro's description:

"An innovative roll down pocket is incorporated into the cummerbund, and stays completely out of the way and hidden until needed."

Only once so far. I found a bunch of golf balls during a beach dive in Ft. Lauderdale -- I think about 10 or so fit in the roll-down pouch.

I don't use pockets much but the roll down is a good idea. Quick to get into and easy to find.

For the record, the "cumberbun pocket" and the "roll-down pocket" are not the same thing.

The "cumberbun pocket" is standard on the Ranger LTD, and was standard in 2003 on the Ranger BC.

The "roll down" pocket was standard on Ranger BCs prior to 2002, and is currently only standard on the Brigade BC that Scuba Toys sells.

Hope this helps make things clearer.

Ok, if I remember the photos of the original "roll down" pocket.

Here is what is in my Ranger LTD (kind of tough describing it):

There is a pocket on my LTD at the cummerbun. This pocket is only secured by a snap fastener. Inside this pocket is a mesh bag that rolls up nicely. You can unroll this mesh bag (which remains attached to the pocket) and unzip the opening to insert items.

My issue with this that the mesh pocket effectively hangs down between your legs when upright (ultimately threatening males if you have anything of weight in the pocket). When horizontal, the mesh bag would hang down from the cummerbun (potentially dragging or snagging on anything you are close to).

I just really don't see the use for this mesh bag. I like the pocket, but wish it had a better fastening device. I made end up removing the mesh bag, making the fastening more secure, and using that pocket that way (my whistle and signalling mirror fit nicely in there).

I've got the older Ranger (circa 1994) with the roll down pocket. It holds my UK C4 light just right. 'Course, the C4 is a little too wimpy, but that's another issue...

Nice that the pocket rolls up and velcro's when not in use.
