Going to be doing a lot of travelling with dive kit & want to minimise weight as much as possible. I have looked on the Zeagle web site & it doesn't say how much the escape weighs, anyone know?

Any other recomendations for Jacket style BC's standard or back inflate most welcome.

No BP/wings reccomendations please there's loads on the site allready.

Thanks

PS Anyone manage to pack minimal travell gear (hot countries) & dive kit in one bag ?

I have a Zeagle Escape for Travel and it is not very heavy. (do not know the weight but there is no back pack. I thought they made a scout that was even "smaller" The Zeagle is fine and mine has the integrated weights. As for one bag.....not a chance for me:) :) but I know it can be done!!

I have the escape. Its fairly compact and pretty lightweight. I wish I would have paid the extra money and gotten the ranger however, for the lift and added features. Dont get me wrong, I love my escape, its a great BC. The only problem being, if I go into more technical diving I will need to uprade.

I have the "Scout" which is the same as an "Escape" without the pockets and cumberbun. I used to be able to get regulator wrapped in a 3mil fullsuit, full foot fins, masks etc. and "Scout" in small (13'' by 29") mesh bag. It was pretty compact with room to spare. I guess I thought I was going to fly somewhere.

I have a Ranger and a Scout. I weighed them on fairly accurate scales, the Ranger weighs 8 lbs, the Scout weighs 4. I have modified my Scout by adding a Ranger cumberbun which added about 1 to 1 1/2 lbs to the "stock" one, so I would guess the Escape is in the 5-6 lb range.

I use the Scout for warm water travel and when it's warm in the quarries around here. I only need about 6 lbs for those warm dives and the weight system that comes with the Scout works OK. You can always use a weight belt in addition. If you want the lightest of the Zeagle line then the Scout may be the best choice.

You should be able to fit a complete warm water kit in a small bag.
Just make sure the fins fit (and aren't too heavy). Zeagle gives you
an idea on their website at http://www.zeagle.com/cat2001_systems.htm
Throw in a couple of spares, mask defogger etc. and you should be good
to go. :D

Looking around among my friends there are several 'small' Zeagles, and two use Seaquest Balances.

Cheers herman for the definite answers & everyone else for comments.

Well the scout looks nice but next prob, can't find a UK dealer. Might be able to get one in thiland but I doubt it. Seems like its mainly available in the US. ummmmmmmmmm.

Cressi-sub aqualight is light & foldable & seems to have good reviews + I can buy one here in UK but the zeagle does look a whole lot nicer...........

Just spoke the UK retailer who said he could get a Scout but it would be £250 = $423.

You got love the UK, rip off Britain is a term used a lot over here. Fair enough Zeagle is a US Company but man thats a big difference. Th distributer said $215 is cheaper than he gets them for so looks like mail order is the way to go.

Thanks all
