I've asked myself the same question.

Part of Larry's description on Scubatoy's web site: "I pulled the Bladder off the Escape, and put it onto my old Ranger - and Presto!! I had the perfect BC!"

Larry?

It's my understanding the Brigade is Pac Cloth whereas the Ranger is Denier 1050Ballistic Nylon. That's my take on it anyway. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong

Really I have no problems with the forward lean most complain about. Its all about positioning and technique. Really even if you notice a little lean use the suggestions some have given on putting wt in the rear trim pockets. I love my Zeagle Brigade bc.

Over 20 dives with the Brigade, and no face planting and I took off my rear weight pouches, I think you just have to never over fill your BC, I dont want to waste all that good air anyway.

I never used the rear weight pockets as I dive with 2-4 pounds. The trick is not to overfill the bladder on the surface and if you do, just lean back and enjoy it like a lounge chair. You really only need to keep your head above water.

I totally missed it in your first post... roll over vs lean back. Of course it's lean back.

I think I'll try that next time I dive with a snorkel - which will probably be never!

Mine's neatly rolled up in one of those nice little holders and tucked away in a pocket for those rare times when the current is ripping and seas are boiling.

I'll dive with one if you will post a photo of snorkeling on your back. :D

You are witty... but remember, it's roll-over-on-your-back, not roll-over-on-your-stomach.

The Brigade vest, shoulders, and waist panles are made of Ballistic Nylon, exactly like the Ranger. The only difference is, it has a 35 lb, single bag, packcloth bladder instead of the double bag (urethane inside a ballistic nylon shell) bladder that the Ranger comes standard with.

The Brigade also has a roll up pocket on the vest, which no other Zeagle BC comes standard with.

Hope this helps...

Scott
