Hello,
I'm using a DX-2G + YS-110a.
The strobe has a "feature" (which for me is often a "bug"): after 30 minutes
of no photo taken the strobe switches off and the only way to turn it on
is to turn the ON/OFF knob first to OFF then to ON. It might me a good
idea when the purpose is to save battery life. But in real life, I often
find myself in the following scenario: I dive without meeting too many
interesting photo objects and more than 30 minutes passes since the
last photo taken (without me noticing). Then, all of a sudden, some very
interesting creature comes within the visual range. Now, instead of just
pressing the "power" button of the camera (which is set to 5 min timeout)
I also has to waste time on turning the strobe power knob first to OFF
then to ON and wait few more seconds until it charges and since
usually the interesting creatures are fast and appear only for a few seconds,
I miss the shot.
Is there any way to disable the 30 minutes timeout "feature" of the YS-110a strobe?
If not, a suggestion for future models: allow a user to disable it if (s)he wants to.
TIA,
