I know this is a bit off the wall,,,,,and maybe better posted on the forum for all the ScubaBoard members,,,,,BUT just thought it might be fun to see what jobs/careers other fellow Texans have (since we are suppose to get to know each other)....so what are you doing/retired/just looking for a job???

ME-- for the past 13 years I have been a commission only sales rep. for a promotional products company--- "feast or fammine", in the summer it's fammine! Have also had my hand in architectural design and drafting and law enforcement.

Well I do not live in TX but have worked there on a few properties that needed me.

Best time is when I had to go cleean up mess left by a tornado in Hondo TX (just west of Houston) Wow what a time I had. They have the 777 ranch there also (did not hunt but seen what they had) watched a Hondo Owls HS Football game (bought a shirt) Got drunk a bunch.

Never did find a place to Dive, I tried to dive at the Riverwalk but was escorted out by officers.

Oh I am a multi-unit property manager. Sorry to get off of subject.

I am a natural gas trader. It has not been quite as fun as it used to be after the Enron debacle sucked the very life out of the industry and every trading house around.

Moved here about a year ago. Many years as a electronics technician, 10 w/ Air Force. Got my engineering degree just as all the high-tech jobs went away. Currently working on a temp-to-hire basis as a support engineer for a company that's been doing sonar since the mid '40s. Great job.

BS Electrical Engineering from Purdue, worked in TX since '96 in the computer biz (Compaq, Dell, AMD, etc.) doing a variety of things. Enjoyed the jobs immensely until the last few years where we've gone from employee empowerment to 'you're lucky to work here'. I'm starting my JD at University of Houston in the fall, with the hope of working in patents and trademarks (thereby thowing away as little of my previous education/experience as possible).

Senior Internet Engineer for EDS. I work on the Sabre, American Airlines, US Airways accounts.

Since I've moved to Texas 14 yrs ago, I've tried out a couple of jobs.

1. Musician
2. Flight instructor and corporate pilot.
3. Computerized textile equipment service tech
4. Various Information technology gigs

Currently managing phone, data and network security for a software company in Dallas. It was more fun before we let most of the staff go, but I've got a much better attitude about work now.
