have him come to Idaho to sort potatoes when they are being harvested. That's hard work and you work long hours to make sure you get the spuds in before it freezes. Did you know they have spud vacation in September or October in parts of Idaho where school is let out for a week to let kids go work for the farmers to harvest the potatoes. Interesting huh?

I guess 16 is pretty standard in the western world
any younger than that here and you have to apply to the council (um see: local government) to obtain a work permit, they check your hours, that it doesnt get in the way of school work and your grades dont slide etc etc

so quite handy if your 14 and reallllly have nothing better to do
ofcourse then when you have to work to pay the stupidly high London rent every month you wish you had spent more time vegging while you had the chance
