The other item I can suggest on this endeavor is if you do not already have an Atomic 2nd stage for your back up is to buy a complete second regulator that is DIN. Cost wise it is a bit more but then you have second first stage which is can be nice to have along for extended trips.

I am possibly thinking of saving some more and just keep an eye out in the classified for a used B1 or Zx2 in DIN. I saw a B1 DIN for about $200. So may options, but I do like the way your thinking.

If looking at a B1 (or a Z1, Ti2) do realize that many dealers not have the service kits with the old style HP seats for "sharp" pistons. They can still be found but you might have to search around (NESS does have them). As such, you will have to replace the piston to the "newer" jet seat style which has been out for some 10 years now. This comment does not apply tot he M1 which has a monel piston and is also the newer jet seat. Replacing the piston will run ~$65 plus service. So that into account when looking on the used market.
