Tobin - Help,

what size wing required and which backplate.

5'11" 215lbs, 44" Chest if that makes any difference.

Currently dive with a Scubapro glide 2000 BCD

Faber 12.2 L, 13.3 kg tare, 232 BAR, 178 cm Diameter - yes I know you guys are still imperial,

I've tracked down the following data on the tank:

Tank 0 lbs Empty, -6 lbs full,

5mm Pinnacle wetsuit and 5/3 henderson vest, with this rig I carry an extra ~18 lb (8kg) of lead.

I want a single tank system but also want to travel with the system to warmer waters (60 degrees Australia (nr Sydney)).

Have i given you enough info?

Cheers

Looks like you suit is a out 18 lbs positive, may be a bit less depending on how inherently buoyant your current BC is.

Your rig will be about -14 with a full tank.

I'd suggest a medium plate, LCD 20 wing and Hogathian harness.

The LCD 20 offers enough lift to float your rig 20 > 14, and enough lift to offset a fully compressed wetsuit 20 > 18.

Tobin,

thanks a lot i tried to follow the other examples but i didn't quite get it. Are yuo suggesting the ss backplate or the kydex/ss hybrid? I am presuming the kydex is lighter if so by how much? thinking about travel with the rig, failing that do you have an idea how much the proposed rig weighs?

More questions i know but from looking around you seem knowledeable and willing to share that knowledge

Cheers

With a 5 mm suit you will benefit from the ballast a SS plate provides, sorry I should have spelled that out.
