Money isn't that tight.... just want the best value for my $$. :D

Having the least amount of bubble interference is very important as well since I tend to shoot supermacro now.

...well, ya might wanna stay away from the Legend then, as because as far as I know, there's no extended exhaust T option for that reg......the Apex ones DO have such an option (at least the XTX 200's do...not sure about the 'cheaper' Apex ones though) .....so make sure whatever you buy you have that option available/installed.

Wish I could say money isn't tight!

Lived in Chandler for a year. Back when it was all farms. I'm sure it is not like that now a days.

The XTX200 comes with two exhaust valves. One that is real wide and makes the exhaust way away, in theory. The second was more traditional and made the 2nd smaller. It does give you a choice and it just takes a minute to change back and forth.

....both the Apeks XTX 200's and the Atomic M1 can be fitted with a factory extended exhaust T....also, all other Atomic models can be fitted with the very same extended exhaust T.....a while ago Scubapro also sold a pretty neat extended exhaust T, probably the biggest (longest) extended T I've seen on a reg......it went out of production a while back (I have no idea why) and although I don't presently own any Scubapro regs, I did buy up a few of those special T's before the supply dried up......just in case!

The legend is a clone of the ATX 200. It has a short exhaust "T" that can't be changed.

All XTX 2nd stages have a swappable long & short exhaust "T"

Yes and to add to that only the XTX50,100 and 200 come with BOTH narrow and wide exhaust Ts the XTX20 and 40 only come with one. Cheers

Edited. Just failed reading comprehension 101.

I own both the Apeks 100 and 200. I like the hose routing a wee bit better of the 100 first stage vs. the 200 first stage. The two upper LP ports on the 200 first stage angle up a few degrees.

Do you know if they made any changes to them since 2006? I'm looking at a "nib" 100 and 100 (leftover inventory from 2006) and am wondering if I may need to have it serviced and replace parts prior to using it rather than just inspected by my lds as that will add to my final cost analysis.

To my knowledge, I'm not an Apex regulator technician, the changes that have been made are mostly to the 2nd stages. When I was getting mine services last year the tech was using XTX stuff on my ATX 100, again in reference to the 1st stage.

I'm sure I'm gonna get lit up on this, but here it goes. Atomic regs don't impress me. Atomic is the designers from ScubaPro who left when Johnson & Johnson purchased ScubaPro and the only ScubaPro reg that I've been impressed with is the MK17 first stage. I have a couple of SP regs and they've all free flowed in cold water even though they were cold water rated. They are on pony bottles and are my loners. I've had Atomics free flow in the cold as well.

I've never had any of my Apeks free flow.
