Hi, there is different conversion efficiency of the circuit on the D26 2500 and D26 1100. The lumens of D26 1100 will slowly decrease as the battery voltage drops, and the low mode of D26 2500 will basically remain unchanged throughout the process. Hope you can see it.
If you need a short verison of this D26 2500, there is product link on our aliexpress store:

Hey XTAR,

I'm courious if it's not a mistake in comparision between burn time on Low level between d26 2600 and d26 1100:

- d26 2500 low 30lm - 32hrs
- d26 1100 low 60lm - 48hrs

or what type of battery was taken to the tests?

And will it be possible to buy just a flaslight short ver of d26 2500 out of set lately?

Thanks for explanation:)
I'm waiting for short version sold separately out of set. I've got several batteries and charges, so I don't need them (case either).

Quick update;

I went diving with the short handled version of the light mounted on a goodman handle. It was plenty bright for everything I was doing. I did go diving in the day so it really wasn't needed and I had a couple newer divers with me so we stayed above 40'.

I need to get some pictures uploaded, it's a pretty sweet light. It's a lot less bulky than the D36 5800 and a more bright than the D26 1600. The head is fatter than the 1600, but manageable.

One thing I did notice that I hadn't before is that the bottom unscrews from the handle and it also unscrews from the middle. With the longer handle I never touched the butt of the light, but with the smaller handle you almost have to to get to the battery. I find that when unscrewing to get to the battery I inadvertently unscrewed the butt a little also. Not really a pro or a con, just an observation to keep an eye on. You could always just unscrew the butt to get the battery out and then be fine. I guess I'm just used to unscrewing them all from the middle.

Hi Rob, thanks for your kind updates, will also look forwards to your pictures. :)

So glad to share the D26 1600S was just released! :)More info here: XTAR D26 1600S Diving Flashlight_ShenZhen XTAR Electronics Co., Ltd

Hi @XTAR. Thanks for clarifying. Two additional questions:

1- In your 2021 brochure a D26 1600S is listed with a max beam intensity of 72400cd and beam distance of 538 meters. Also listed is the old D26 1600 with Max beam of 46700cd and max beam distance of 432 meters. The 1600S seems to be a big improvement over the D26 1600. Is the 1600S now sold in the market?

2- The D26 2500 is only listed with Max Beam Intensity of 25360cd and a Max Beam Distance of 320 meters. So, compared even to the old D26 1600 and more so the new D26 1600S, the D26 2500 is less bright and has a shorter throw?

Hope you can shed some light on this. For Tech diving, narrow spot beam for signaling is good to have.

apparently this light is undergoing an update to the tail cap...this version has been taken off the shelves. I tried to order one yesterday, and xtar advises they will be unavailable for the next few weeks. Wonder that they're changing?
Ps. what Goodman are you using for the 2500 short?

That looks awesome! Except for the "lock" that does not actually lock the light. I have 2 of the 1600s that have the same lock - i.e. press and hold the button for 3 seconds. They turn on by accident all the time.

I have gone back to using my Xtar D26 Whale 1100 lights because they have a mechanical (1/4 turn) lock and do not turn on by accident.

@XTAR PLEASE change these lights to have a real lock to prevent them turning on by accident!

I missed this, sorry;

It's a 3D printed goodman handle.
