This light is almost identical to the orca torch D511 in terms of specs, battery and spot beam angle of 8%. @XTAR are they made in the same factory? Any insights on how the two lights are different? Thanks.
Hi Macan, We are different brands. And there are many differences on xtar D26 2500 and orca torch D511, such as lighting levels, switch design, beam throw... You can view more details for our light on the website: XTAR D26 2500 Dive Light For Caving & Wreck Diving

Hi @XTAR. Thanks for clarifying. Two additional questions:

1- In your 2021 brochure a D26 1600S is listed with a max beam intensity of 72400cd and beam distance of 538 meters. Also listed is the old D26 1600 with Max beam of 46700cd and max beam distance of 432 meters. The 1600S seems to be a big improvement over the D26 1600. Is the 1600S now sold in the market?

2- The D26 2500 is only listed with Max Beam Intensity of 25360cd and a Max Beam Distance of 320 meters. So, compared even to the old D26 1600 and more so the new D26 1600S, the D26 2500 is less bright and has a shorter throw?

Hope you can shed some light on this. For Tech diving, narrow spot beam for signaling is good to have.

Then look for 2021 brochure and download it. The PDF shows a D26 1600S. Unfortunately no data on spot bean angle on any of the lights but Max Beam Distance is given. I assume that the further the Max Beam Distance the narrower the spot beam angle.

Downloading now... they must be gluing the pages together on the server end......taking forever, lol. Going by kb's / second.

Hope this helps. See the 1600s

I got it (finally). Really interesting / great find. Amazing what LED's have done in the last few years.... seems like it just keeps getting better.

Interested to see what @XTAR has to say.

Looks like what changed between the old D26 1600 and D26 1600s is the Led. The old one uses the Cree XHP35-HI D4 while the new 1600s LED is the CSLPM1.TG, the same LED as the D36 5800II.

The run time on the new 1600s is showing a decrease in Turbo, almost the same on High, but dramatic run time increase on Mid and Low settings.

Hopefully, the new 1600s is an improvement of the old 1600 in terms of user issues related to switch, batt drain, difficulty in screwing back the cap when replacing battery, etc as posted on Scubaboard by various members.

Spec wise, it seems that this new 1600s is a better light for Tech than the D26 2500 unless I’m missing something.

Hey XTAR,

I'm courious if it's not a mistake in comparision between burn time on Low level between d26 2600 and d26 1100:

- d26 2500 low 30lm - 32hrs
- d26 1100 low 60lm - 48hrs

or what type of battery was taken to the tests?

And will it be possible to buy just a flaslight short ver of d26 2500 out of set lately?

Hi there, the D26 1600S is under preparation now. We will release it soon. Please stay tuned!
And for D26 1600S, as you can see, the light throw, lighting efficiency...have been improved with new LED. Based on tech innovation and users' preference, we are keeping researching and improving. And the new light will get better. :)
