I mount my canister on the velcro strap over the spine weight pockets, under the wing. It is completely out of the way.

Do you use the velcro of the harness of you added more? Any picture would be great. Thank you

I just use the factory velcro strap through the waist belt sheath. It doesn't need to be any longer.

I mount to the bottom of the shoulder strap on the right in a vertical position. Route the cable along the spine. It's as high as I can put it and still reach the switch.
I like having it tucked in.

When I dove the xdeep, I mounted the same way the op did. I've since decided the plate is kind of pointless and moved to a figure 8 of bungee.
