I don't see any situation where being able to lock the turret is a significant plus

I'm not sure why even in single tank you would want to lock it. That rotation allows slightly more freedom of movement for the diver.

Anyone get one yet? I'd be curious to see if routing is significantly better than other brands with normal rotating turrets on the bottom like scubapro mk25.

I'm waiting on mine.
I had an order for apeks xtx50's but canceled it for the NX700 because I think that it would have a nicer routing. Especially for sidemount.

For sidemount one advantage I could see is that you rotate your turret to deploy a hose, like your long hose, you won't have to worry about rotating the inflator/suit hose that comes out of the top port.
