I am looking for a simple computer, it does not have to be nitrox compatible. I do not need all the bells and whistles, just a simple computer that does the basics.

New for $200........hard to beat...........

Aeris XR-1 Wrist Computer

Hope this helps.......M

I saw that, it is a good deal. Although since it will only be used on probably one dive trip a year by my wife I was hoping to pick up a cheap one - I have seen them go for <$100 every now and then (I actually have already received a pm for a $50 one).

My M2 (nitrox) only cost me $199 new - I am debating if I want to pay and get a nitrox one for a little more that I could use as a back up for me (I dive much more than my wife).

Most of the used computers I have seen typically have been older models........

I would worry about the depth sensor and flooding.........

I did buy a used Vyper form a good friend that I know well, he went to a RB......

If just for one trip, could you rent?

For my family we have Suunto's so we have the same NDL calc......

I know about the issues with buying an older one - renting - well I am not a big fan - especially since it would probably cost $100 to rent for a week (just a guess). I would buy the new one for $199 before I did that - it would pay for itself in two years. If the depth guage fizzles out I would know because I would always be right next to me wife and I would be watching her. Last time she just dove tables and I stuck with my computer (I had 22 dives vs 9 for her in Bonaire). Tables are just not very good for diving there as there is a large amount of verticle relief and a computer really maximizes your time. The $50 is from a good dive buddy of mine, so I trust him.

I could part with a hosemount Oceanic veo100 nx for $100 if you decide to go the Nitrox route but that is as low as I could go at this point. It is solid and very easy to use. The hosemount puck style makes it easy to use as a backup as well and is obviously travel friendly.

just sent a pm, is it just the hockey puck unit, or does it have a mount of some sort? any pics?

It does have the hosemount with it. It also has a new battery and protective cover. I will try to get a pic or two your way.
