I'm thinking of doing the same. If I don't come down on Friday, then I'm still thinking of staying over on Saturday and participating in the after dive festivities.

Any recommendations on where would be nice.

I reserved 5 scooters from Aqua Tech which is near downtown San Diego. If anyone is interested in renting a scooter let me know. They are 15 dollars per scooter per day. You may have to go down there and pick it up but maybe you can arrange it over the phone and we can have someone get it.

If anyone wants to stay here or somewhere else and split a room let me know. I was thinking of either spending the night on both Friday and Saturday or maybe just Saturday, when I'll be too tired to want to drive home. Also, I'd like to hang out with my fellow ScubaBoarders that evening, so spending Saturday night just seems like a good idea.

Here is another choice I found that looks pretty good.
