What is the Wrinkles Dive?

This is a monthly gathering of all divers and non-divers in SoCal who can make it. It's a lot of fun involving diving, eating, socializing and sometimes even camping!

It all started when our SoCal member, Wrinkles, mentioned to a group that she dove with that it would be really fun to be able to get together at least once a month. Pasley, took off with the idea and announced the first "Wrinkles Dive". The rest is history!

It's open to everyone of all skill levels from "I'm not certified yet" to "Do we really have to dive the Andrea Doria again?"

We've found this to be a great way to meet our fellow divers locally and many new dive buddies have been found though these "dive soirees".


Parking Info:

Bring Plenty of quarters if you want to park in the metered lot at Veteran's Park!

The parking meters give you 15 min. per quarter, so figure on $1 per hour and they are in operation 24 hours per day, seven days per week.

If you park under the pier in the underground structure you don't need to use quarters and it it goes to a maximum of $7.50. The entrance is on Torrance and you run right into it if you just keep driving on Torrance toward the water. It's about a 1/4 mile walk from the underground structure to Veteran's Park, but not as bad as the walk from the parking structure to the beach at Montage/Treasure Island in Laguna.

6:00AM - Early Birds arrive and lay claim to a spot (put out tarps and shade thingies)
7:00AM - People wanting to do the first dive arrive, say "Hi", make a dive plan and gear up with people hitting the water between 7:30 and 8:00.
8:00AM - First Dive
11:00AM - Second Dive
12:00AM - Lunch
2:00PM - Third Dive
5:00PM - Night Dive (Sunset, bring your lights, extra batteries and warm clothes)
7:00PM - Dinner and more socializing at:

Wrinkles dives will take place every 2nd Saturday of the month and we will occasionally have both a Saturday and Sunday included for an entire weekend of fun.

It's always a struggle to find time to put these threads up one at a time. Since I had a bit of free time, I knocked out the whole 2007 calendar.

I should have started with December, so that it would have been pushed to the 2nd page when done.

Awesome! You can RSVP anywhere the event is posted. We try to monitor as many sites as possible to give more divers the chance to attend but centralize the RSVP list for simplicity's sake.
