KNAVEY quoted "Just dove the Sheridan last weekend. Great shape, decent vis, no current and plenty of goliath grouper".

Question: What dive op did you use to get to this wreak? Phone number if available please. Thanks.

Won't be able to help with that one...friend of mine has a boat that we used to run out there. We hit the Blackthorne Barges, Blackthorne, and Sheridan that day. They are all within a couple hundred yards of each other, so I would be a dive op would love to go out to them since they won't burn much gas between dives.

I think he's talking about the orange tug. The Sheridan is 20-21 miles out of Clearwater pass.

I'm waiting for Ben over at Tanks a Lot to make a run out there.

Looking for info on a wreck about 12 mi. off St Petersburg, is a tug. What is the name and any history.

IM aue-mike, he's the wreck expert on the eastern seaboard.

Also, you may consider buying his book, Shipwrecks of the Sunshine State. In the back it's got about a thousand of wreck GPS numbers and you may find the name of your wreck correlated to the number. Also, this book goes into great history of the more well known wrecks. Mike is a NOAA diver and historian, he is the one responsible for identifying many of the unknown wrecks in FL. Also, he may know the history of the lesser known wrecks, perhaps of the one you seek.
