I have been sitting on this footage for a few years. This wreck is kind of hard to get to unless you have your own boat. I did not. I called a local restaurant and fortunately after speaking with the manager I was able to find a boat and captain who would take us from The Bent Anchor Restaurant in Combermere to the wreck location. We dove it 3 times. The first time we could not find it. A year later, a buoy was there and was attached to the wreck. A year after that, the buoy was there but not attached to the wreck, but we were close by and able to find it.
To learn the history of this wreck Cogeco TV did a nice production on its history with some very cool reenactments. Worth a watch. Enjoy!
Skip to the 11:11 mark for the mayflower story.
