Wreck diving and the USS Oriskany

Aww it was a cheezy one anyway (I kid, I kid...) I was actually about 2 seconds from bailing in after that buoy, but I couldn't find my fins and wasn't about to get in that current without them.

You're right on the buoy...I've had to dive in once before to get it, mainly because I didn't check to see if it was attached when I threw it out...

I noticed a few very large 'vent' looking things just upstream from the flag. They were maybe 5' by 8' with a + framework. They appeared to curve waaay down into the ship. What are these? Where do they go?

That's the smokestack from the main engine room. Pretty cool, eh?

DMO did you go out today? Also are you doing the trip to Cayman this fall?

I just got back. Headed out tomorrow too. No decision on the Cayman trip. I have to check the schedules. How about you?

You're right. They're a lot better when you get a good crowd.
