Dove today for opening day of regular lobster season in West Palm Beach with BJ. Jumped on the boat Sunny Sunday (new name - same yellow boat). Captain Tony put us on some good drops and a couple of us limited out. Viz was patchy with 30 ft in some places and then 50 ft further down the reef. Current was two knots on the first dive and then on the second dive was screaming at 4 knots and we went 1.2 mi and 40 minutes. 81° on the bottom and seas were choppy but doable.
The Gulf had 19ft tall waves 3 days ago and that gulf stream loop current will be hitting quick. The Keys folks said most of their viz is toast so it's moving up to us. With the fast currents just hoping it moves out quick and we get back to normal 50-80ft viz. We just need these hurricanes to stay away.
