"The Stunt" used to be on YouTube but the user closed his/her account. :(
I loved that there were kelp forests and shallow reefs mid channel where they would exchange used doubles and scooters for fresh ones.

I found the entire series on eBay a while back.

Interested in copying the set for a nominal charge:eyebrow: What am I saying? A fine upstanding lawyer such as yourself would never do such a thing

I'll keep my eyes out on ebay. Maybe another will pop up. "EDIT" Now bidding on Vol 1-4 "EDIT"

I seem to remember Scott Cassel's name from some years back. My memory is that he was then trying to flog, at incredible prices, dives with the Humbolt Squid down in Baja. He had made up some fiberglass or carbon fiber armor for these dives.

Almost as funny as seeing giant kelp in "Jaws" when they were supposed to be in the Northeast! Those sequences were filmed at least in part at Torqua Springs, Catalina.

Yes, Scott is known for his Humboldt squid diving. It is his beklief that the decimation of Sharks off the US West Coast has opened up niches for the Humboldt squid to invade since they are ecologically equivalent to many shark species.

He was involved with an attempt to study the deep (to about 900 ft) water habitats here in the submersible Antipodes last fall. He also goes after poachers around the world (an effort I definitely support).

I wonder why it is called the "30 Mile Dive" when the closest distance from Catalina to the mainland is 19.7 miles and "26 miles" was chosen by the Four Preps because it sounded better. That is about the distance to Newport Beach from Avalon.
