NO WAY!!! The worse karma EVER. NOT ME!

No, it is good karma.

The victim's survivors get rid of the gear, which is probably an unpleasant reminder, and get cash for it, which can help with the financial consequences of the accident.

Get and get it serviced .... Done!!

Over here in Asia...I imagine no one would want to dive that equipment.

Yes, I'd most likely give it to one of my sons. Perhaps it would be a constant reminder that death never takes a holiday; awareness and good judgement is a minimum requirement when diving.

As long as it wasn't a failure in THAT gear which caused the death.......:D

Sound logic

It is no worse than rental gear. Who knows what you are using and if anyone has died using it.

I've paid a premium for the used gear of a dead friend. Of course, I knew his widow and kids needed the money, as did all the other purchasers of his estate. By the time his friends were done cleaning out the garage, there wasn't a thing left to remind her, and there was far more cash in the shoe box than if it had been sold on the normal used gear market.

So, I guess my answer would be, yes, depending upon the circumstances.
