Would like to try the Casino Dive Park

I would like to try diving at the Casino Dive Park in Avalon on Saturday,October 17.
It would be my first time there.
I read the sticky on Catalina, (thanks Dave), and the question I have is how will the Jazz festival which is happening the first three weeks in October will affect it. Like how crowded can we expect it to be, can we still get to restaurants for lunch, dinner without a 2 hour wait. Will the Catalina Express be packed, etc..

Make reservations.

Avalon hosts 4000 cruise ship people/day all the time. You'll be just fine. Enjoy the music!

JazzTrax has NOT been as crowded this year (unfortunately). I'm not aware of the status of hotels for that weekend, although you can check by calling the Chamber of Commerce at (31) 510-8436. Time your meals to happen during the performances and you'll have no trouble... and probably not much if you don't.

I'll be diving on a scientific collecting trip that weekend so I won't be at the dive park.
