good one.

I need that card.

well, I will keep ya'll posted. Somethings gotta give.

On another note...I went to dinner with the people that sold me my house.
The woman is Indonesian and never learned to swim as a child. She proceeded to tell me about scuba diving on an Intro course at resort recently. They both sat there and beamed that she was able to do this even though she could not swim.
Anybody ever heard of this? I was like "oh, ...thats.. nice" I mean what do you say? I did say "did you TELL them that you could not swim?" ..."oh, yes"..beaming, happy, thrilled faces.

Well, today while diving at Sharks Cove, I saw one diver pulling 4 others on a rope. It looked like they were going for a ride, the diver pulling was on the bottom at 25 ft and the the last diver was on the surface with the others spread between. It was the craziest thing.

On topic, I do have a video camera and video reveals all. If that doesn't work, then I would not dive with her anymore.

Wait we're not talking about me and saying "she" are we?:eyebrow:

Maybe they were practicing their formations for drift diving? :D

This is the kind of diver to NOT dive with... sure help her, sure tell it like it is... but if she won't/can't change, don't put yourself or your dive at risk.

ANOTHER bad buddy experience I had (but he wasn't MY buddy) was on my Arkansas trip. He was a male version of this chick. He had gone through the rescue diver course (successfully- though THAT boggles my mind when even his instructor warned me about him). I met him twice at two different dive sites and decided I would NEVER, EVER, EVER dive with him. Thankfully he couldn't get down so I didn't have to deal with it. I was invited on a dive vacation with the group... is HE going? Yep. No thanks.

You are responsible for yourself and also, to a point, for those you dive with. Accidents waiting to happen who insist on diving are very, very bad dive buddies- you can't put yourself in the situation where you are responsible for her- or, at the very least, where her actions cause consequences you have to deal with.

Have fun, though... sounds like a challenge.

Someone told me that they do this in Japan with new divers. Again, just repeating what someone told me. The theory is that it makes them feel more at ease to be tethered to the instructor. Nice technique, huh?

I'd hate to be that instructor.

Well, it was the Japanese group that was doing it. All I could think is lord let me get out of the way and "quick Pete, get a picture!"

Any ideas on what would have happened if you had cut the rope? :D
...or am I just mean?

edit: This is my 666th post...I guess I am evil. ;)

Such strokery is indicative of a tremendous potential for golf. Someone should take her to the nearest course slow to 30 mph open the door and kick her out. Then she can become a golf instructor's issue.
(Yeah this is mean, but after calling a veteran a "baby killer" tact is no longer an obligation)
