Nuno Gomes does not hold the current record. His record was beaten just 3 weeks later by Pascal Bernabe, sponsored by Ralf Tech (330m). Look up Ralf Tech and Pascal's dive is described in detail on their site (including stops, gas mixes, equipment, the dive itself, etc).
As far as depth records go, there's nothing wrong with them.
If someone wants to set the record for the deepest dive, more power to you. That's something I'd like to see televised.
Really nuts...Nuno Gomes and Pascal Bernabe will surely kill themselves by chasing the devil of the deep...
