World's best places to dive?

Hey,

Doing this post more just to see where people would recommend and also because I need a good holiday soon too

Where do we reckon are the best places in the world to dive? This can be wrecks, reefs, anywhere you have had a good experience and seen some great stuff! Obviously the Great Barrier Reef and Red Sea are going to feature but anywhere more specific?

Red Sea
Ras Mohamed and the golden triangle (Borthers, Daedelus, Elphinstone) are the best.

Glad to see some Red Sea recommendations its one of the few dive spots within 5 hours of the Uk, and also one with other attractions for my family - all too wuss to dive :lol:

Problem is they all worry about terrorism and stuff there so i've got to convince them otherwise on that too! :shakehead

One way to convince them is to tell them that terrorism exists everywhere now. Examples are UK, US, Spain, Turkey, etc...
As long as Egypt is very low on crimes, and is not a war zone, it's as safe as virtually any place in the world now

I could spend 2 solid weeks at <insert dive site here> and still not see everything.

I pretty much feel this way about every dive I've ever done! There's always something new to see...a new critter, a different behaviour, a colour variation...

I love diving!!

If it's warm water reef diving then
either Cannibal Rock or the RA's in Irian Jaya
Wrecks-that'll be a toss up, warm water-Chuuk/Truk probably
Drift diving-Palau
Cold water opens up a whole 'nother list
