I never liked penalties........

Curses upon Germany..., pfffff

Really, really wish that Messi had played today.

I'm so depressed right now :( :( :( :(

Germany plays the winner of the Italy vs Ukraine game on Tuesday....
Italy needs to step up their game, they frankly haven't impressed me so far this world cup.

So much for the vaunted Argentinian skills! Argentinian fouls more like! :D

They deserved to lose.

Jamdiver:
They didn't play that dirty Kim.......... come on.
Just before the end the stats were German fouls 20, Argentinian fouls 31.
That's quite a difference.

Actually - the ESPN stats are different to what came up on my TV. Full time stats according to ESPN were Germany 23 / Argentina 30. with 3 yellows for Germany and 4 for Argentina.

I thought the ref was fair enough.

Anyway - I don't care really....Germany won so at least all the crap about how good the Argies are can stop now! :D

dive_lover88:
the ref was giving advantages to germany...
I don't think so divelover...
Felt that the ref was quite professional and mostly correct in his calls.
Btw, am I the only one that misses Pierlugi Collina??
I think he's the best ref in a generation.

Kim:

Quite true Kim, however I don't feel that the differential in fouls is enough to say that Argentina was playing the game in a mean spirit or playing 'dirty'.
I felt that the game was played in fairly good spirits, even with all the flashpoints during the game with the players..

What pulled Germany through I think was confidence and self-belief, I could see it after they scored the equalizer and it gradually grew during the extra time period.

Unfortunately I started to see Argentina fall into negative playing and tactics, I never really felt that they were throwing everything at germany to win.

Always had their eye on extra time and penalty shoot-out.....

Que Sera, Que sera...
