Anyone up for a dive at Woods Hole Today? Wonder what ole Jaws is up to? I couldn't find a link to the story but looks like the Cape has a 15' Great White visitor in a tidal pool.

Too bad Quint isn't still doing dive charters..Farewell and adieu to you fair Spanish ladies ....

Where's the 'Orca' when you need it?

FALMOUTH, Mass. A great white shark has been tagged with a satellite tracking device after being found in the waters off Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

A shark specialist for the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries says this is the first time a great white has ever been tagged in the Atlantic Ocean.

He tells the Cape Cod Times he used a six-foot spear to attach the tracking device to the shark's dorsal fin.

The shark is estimated to be 15 feet long and weigh two-thousand pounds. It was spotted earlier this week in shallow waters off Woods Hole.

While great whites aren't unusual in the North Atlantic, marine biologists say they generally don't go that close to shore.

Is this place anywhere where it might be possible to catch a glimpse from shore or anything? A couple of friends and I were going to be in the area this weekend and I was wondering if it would be worth swinging by to try and see if we could see it swimming by, maybe grab a picture of it. I can't dive this weekend, but I've always wanted to see a great white...

At last report the shark is in Salt Pond on Nashon Island off Woods Hole. The Great White is endangered and should be left alone. I can envision a fleet of small boats reminicent of "Jaws" heading out to get a peak. Yes it would be exciting to see one, but this could end up being a circus.

Yeah, I was thinking strictly from shore. No boats, no getting in the water, etc.

No getting in the water? I would hope not. If anyone is planning on getting in the water with this critter let us know on the board, I think DAN has referrals to Mental Health Professionals.
